Amethyst

This beautiful purple stone is a stone of meditation and spirituality. It cleanses, purifies, restructures, and renews. When you wear this stone it will reduce anger, impatience, and nightmares. It can also help overcome addictions. The ancient Greeks believed people who wore an amethyst or drank from an amethyst chalice would not become intoxicated.

Carnelian

Carnelian is a member of the quartz family. It is one of the oldest stones used in jewelry making - found in Egyptian tombs.

Stones Have Healing Properties

Some alternative healers and New Age believers have discovered ancient uses for gemstones and use them in healing many different ailments. The vital power of the earth's energies has been absorbed by the stones, giving them distinctive physical and spiritual properties.

In the coming posts, I will be exploring the spiritual qualities and mythical meanings of beads and stones that we use and love so much.

Wood Bead Project

Decorating your wooden beads makes unique and stunning jewelry. To replicate this idea, paint a few and wrap a few in string. To create an antique look, smudge a different colour on an already painted bead with a sponge. Craft glue works well for the string. Use BBQ skewers to hold the beads as your painting. String the beads together with a ribbon, and tie a knot in between each one. I hope you love it as much as I do!
